Afghanistan Cricket Team’s Full Schedule of ICC ODI World Cup 2023

On Tuesday, the ICC released the schedule for the ODI World Cup 2023, and Afghanistan will participate in the ICC Cricket World Cup for the third time.

Afghanistan will play its first World Cup match against Bangladesh On October 7 at Dharamsala. Then, on October 11 and 15, respectively, there will be games against India and England in New Delhi. Afghanistan will compete against Pakistan in Chennai on October 23 and will take on Australia in Mumbai on November 7. The final league-round match between Afghanistan and South Africa will occur on November 10 in Ahmedabad.

“The game against Bangladesh will be our first game of the World Cup. Every game played at the World Cup is important; it gives you confidence and good morale if you go out there and win. We will prepare ourselves, work hard as much as possible, and try to start positively,” Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi said.

“The World Cup is a great event, and we look forward to it. It is a dream for every player to play there, especially in India, where we hope to get much support. It is near Afghanistan, so hopefully, many people will come to watch our games,” he said.

“There is much expectation back home during big events. Back home, people expect a lot from us; they want us to win. This time, Inshallah, we will try our best to perform well in this World Cup and to give happiness to the people of Afghanistan back home,” Shahidi added.

Australia vs Afghanistan, November 7- Mumbai
