Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari welcomed his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Thursday.

Abdollahian arrived in Islamabad yesterday for a two-day visit at FM Bilawal’s invitation. The Iranian foreign minister is in Pakistan on a first-ever bilateral visit, according to the Foreign Office (FO).
Earlier today, the two leaders held a “tête-à-tête” at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and planted a Pine tree sapling on the office premises, Dawn reported.
Before his arrival, The FO said that Abdollahian would meet with Bilawal and discuss a wide range of topics, including all facets of bilateral relations and the developing regional situation.
According to the statement, the Iranian foreign minister would also meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss the agreement the two countries’ leaders reached on advancing their relationship.
The Iranian FM will also meet Speaker National Assembly and Chairman Senate to discuss parliamentary linkages between the two brotherly countries.
“FM Abdollahian’s visit will be an opportunity for the two sides to discuss the entire range of bilateral ties with a particular focus on regional connectivity, energy and economic and investment ties between Pakistan and Iran,” the FO said.
