Julian Belgrave’s exceptional performance, securing gold in the Masters Men’s Physique category, stood out as the highlight of Barbados’ representation at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) bodybuilding and fitness championship, which concluded on Sunday in Aruba.
Belgrave outshone his competition, besting Mexico’s Jose Rodriguez and Aruba’s Erik Croas to claim Barbados’ only gold medal at the 50th edition of the championship.
Additionally, Belgrave finished third in the Senior Men’s Physique 173 cm category, which was won by Guyana’s Emmerson Campbell, with Briceston Anderson of the Bahamas securing second place.
Mr Barbados, Sanaj Lewis, made a strong showing in the Senior Men’s Bodybuilding 75 kg category, earning a respectable fourth place, as the division was won by Antonio Orozco of Costa Rica.
In the Senior Men’s Classic division, specifically in the over 175 cm category, Hugo Greaves secured a fourth-place finish, with Yuri Rodriguez of El Salvador claiming the title.
Moving on to the Senior Men’s Classic Physique over 175 cm, Barbados’ Jurad Mason clinched the silver medal, while Renaldo Bourne finished sixth.
Rasheda Belgrave, competing in the Senior Women’s Bodyfitness 163 cm category, settled for second place, narrowly missing out on the gold, which was claimed by Costa Rica’s Katherine Chavarria.
Bukkiah Providence, the reigning National Men’s Physique champion, took part in the Senior Men’s Physique Over 179 cm category and achieved an admirable second place, trailing just behind the Bahamas’ Terrion Kemp.
Shanequa Allamby earned a commendable third-place finish in the Open Women’s Fit Model category, while Trudi-Anne Bovell had back-to-back third-place finishes in the Master Women’s Bikini and the Senior Women’s Bikini Up to 164 cm categories.
In the Senior Women’s Bikini 169 cm category, Daniel Gill was second, with Venezuela’s Zairley Gomez claiming the top spot.
Makhalia Farier had a fourth-place finish in the Senior Women’s Bikini 160 cm category. (RT)
