iciHaiti - 2023 World Cup: The technical team and the «FIFA Safeguardians»
The technical team of our Grenadières at the Autralies / New Zealand 2023 World Cup is one of the teams, if not the only technical team whose all members have been trained by FIFA in the field of the safeguarding.
An initiative that is part of the new vision set by the Standardization Committee, which is in the process of setting up a vast safeguarding program within the federation and in the world of football in general. It should be noted that safeguarding is a system that aims to implement a structured policy with measures that aim to minimize risks. It is also the creation of a procedure to react to the concerns that young people may have in the first place in the sporting world and then any person likely to be a victim of violence in sport.
For FIFA, each team must have in its team at least one person who has received this training and this person is the reference who deals with the well-being and respect for the standards of safeguarding in the treatment of athletes within the national teams. In the case of Haiti, the Normalization Committee has opted for anyone who is part of the team of the French coach Nicolas Délépine to have received this training, in order to ensure better management of the Grenadières.
Moreover, in the continuity of this approach, the FHF Standardization Committee intends to organize similar training for the technical teams of all its selections. In addition, a cohort of safeguarding agents will soon be trained in concert with certain schools and football academies to guarantee the expansion of this culture of protection while ensuring the creation of a healthy environment for the evolution of our athletes.
