The body of former Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President John Zenus Ungapake Tembo will be laid to rest at his home district of Dedza on Wednesday next week.
The funeral’s special committee chairperson Albert Mbawala has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Mbawala, the body will be taken from Goodwill Mortuary to the late Tembo’s residence on Monday.
On Tuesday, the body will lay for viewing at Malawi Square before leaving for Dedza.
Meanwhile, the family has opened the condolence book at the Tembo’s residence in Area 10.
On Thursday, State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima took time to sign the book of condolence for the late John Tembo and condoled with the Tembo family.
Chilima was welcomed by Foreign Affairs Minister Nancy Tembo and John Tembo Junior, among others.
Tembo died at the age of 91.
