On Monday morning, July 17, Archbishop Jorge Ignacio García Cuerva of Buenos Aires made it known that a priest of the Argentine capital was becoming the Holy Father’s personal secretary. The name of the Buenos Aires priest is Father Daniel Pellizzon, said new Archbishop García Cuerva:
I share with you the joy that Father Daniel Pellizzon, priest of this Archdiocese of Buenos Aires, has been called by Pope Francis to be his personal secretary, replacing Father Gonzalo Aemilius. He will travel to Rome at the beginning of August to begin the task entrusted to him. We pray for him in this new entrusted mission at the service of the Church.
Father Daniel Pellizzon was born in the City of Buenos Aires on January 24, 1983. In 2011-2012 he collaborated with the then Archbishop in the organization of his personal archive. He was ordained a priest on November 3, 2018. He carried out his ministry first as Deacon and then as Parish Vicar for five years, accompanying pilgrims in the Saint Cajetan Shrine of Liniers. Last March he was appointed Vicar of Our Lady of Mercy, post he has held to date.
