The coroner’s inquest into the 2018 death of Cordayro Joseph, an inmate found deceased in Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP), continued with testimony from the prison officer who discovered him hanging.
Joseph’s death, initially prompting a mandatory inquest, faced delays, raising questions about the circumstances.
Joseph, aged 27, was serving a 35-year sentence for a murder conviction.
The current inquest, which began a year ago and was restarted with new jurors in August, featured the account of Alphaeus Jackson, the officer who found Joseph hanging in his cell.
The proceedings are ongoing, with the hearing resuming today.
