A 69-year-old woman, Esmeralda Martin, is facing more than 70 charges for allegedly selling a parcel of land that did not belong to her.
Prosecuted alongside her husband, Elridge ‘Jury’ Martin, who faces 30 charges related to the incident, the couple is accused of fraudulent conversion and larceny, among other offenses.
The complainant claims to have made multiple payments totaling $55,490 for the land, believing it was purchased from Elridge, who advertised it on social media.
However, upon attempting to obtain the deed and title, the complainant discovered the land did not belong to the Martins, leading to the police investigation and charges being filed. (OBSERVER)
