MANILA -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Monday said it has approved a loan of 500 million U.S. dollars to support Indonesia's development agenda and business reform priorities.
The Manila-based bank said Indonesia has undertaken various actions to improve the investment climate, including enabling environment for investments, easing trade barriers, and upscaling enterprises. (ADB-Loan-Indonesia)

VIENTIANE -- The Visit Laos Year 2024 tourism promotion campaign will be officially launched in November, aimed at attracting at least 4.6 million foreign and Lao tourists in 2024, local media reported Monday.
The campaign will bring tourists to Laos and encourage the creation of products that will broaden the scope of tourism and add value to products, as well as improve the quality of services in line with the requirements of target market groups, the Vientiane Mai newspaper quoted Laos' Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune as saying at a meeting here last Friday. VIENTIANE -- In the first eight months of 2023, the China-Laos Railway has transported 3,101,400 tons of goods, an increase of 138 percent year on year, according to the Laos-China Railway Co., Ltd. (LCRC).
Lao News Agency on Monday quoting deputy director of the LCRC, Anongdeth Phetkaysone, reported that the goods importing from China to Laos were 344,700 tonnes while the goods exporting from Laos to China were 2,752,200 million tons. (Laos-China-Railway)

CANBERRA -- The Australian government has recommenced the visa process for Chinese group travelers, according to an official statement.
