By Mamokone Machabe

After seeing a lady on social media make a living out of making and selling shoes(slippers), Itumeleng Thabane 29, got inspired and sought training and mentorship from her and later ventured into selling and making handmade slippers and cushions herself.

“Our handmade morning slippers are exclusively designed for extreme comfort and warmth, the materials we use are very soft, fluffy, and comfortable,” revealed Thabane.

Thabane said her shoes are targeted to people of all age groups, kids, youth and elders both male and female.

This publication had an interview with one of Thabane’s customers Ms Mamorabole Mona, who said was introduced to the brand by a friend and this is what she had to say.

“I bought the slippers some time ago, even today they are still intact indicating the quality of the raw materials used to make them. It was a recommendation of a friend which got me to purchase them, she told me that unlike other slippers manufacturers, Thabane specializes in exclusivity.”

She concluded by saying she is still very satisfied with her shoes to date, “They are very warm and comfortable”.

The 29years old stated that like many businesses there are challenges in her business as well. When its summer there is a shortage in supply of raw materials here in Lesotho, then in South Africa materials are only sold in bulk.

Itumeleng Thabane is a serial entrepreneur who produces handmade slippers and cushions, organic hair products exclusively of botanic plants created for extreme hair growth: hair spray, hair food and oil. She sources her raw materials in both Lesotho and South Africa.
