Aaron Ramsdale reveals hilarious nicknames for Arsenal stars and the reason he calls Mohamed Elneny BRIAN

AARON RAMSDALE has a host of nicknames for his Arsenal team-mates including calling Mohamed Elneny "Brian".

It is an affectionate term for the Egyptian, much like Cesar Azpilicueta's famous "Dave" nickname at Chelsea.

The Gunners No1 was recently asked to describe some of his team-mates using only one word.

And in the quick-fire ESPN Q&A Ramsdale revealed a few of the nicknames he has for his colleagues.

He calls Bukayo Saka "starboy" - a term often used by Gooners.

While he jokingly calls Ben White "tan" and Gabriel Magalhaes "teeth".

Summer signing Fabio Vieira is known by "T-bag" due to looking like the Prison Break character of the same name, while Ramsdale calls Reiss Nelson "bulky".

And the shot-stopper used two words to describe Eddie Nketiah: "My captain".

Ramsdale has had a successful season and he recently revealed his pre-match routine, drawing inspiration from Sir Bobby Charlton.

He said: "In the changing rooms, if I am playing, I take myself away from the main changing room to put my gloves on.

"I don’t like everyone giving me well wishes.

"I put my right glove on, my left glove, take my right glove off and shake everyone’s hand so they are not touching my gloves. It is also a respect thing.

"It comes from Bobby Charlton. My dad met him once and he went to shake his hand and Bobby Charlton took his glove off to shake his hand so that sort of resonated with me.

"Then, I go out onto the pitch and put my glove back on, I go to the centre circle, play with the ball and then I go and touch the crossbar.

"I am not massively bothered if I do not touch the ball or crossbar but the gloves one is the main one."
