A woman has blamed a doll for a sudden surge in paranormal activity in her home.
Events manager Yvonne Hydes, who works for The Scottish Ghost Company and organises paranormal investigations across the country, took the doll home and placed it in her spare room. But shortly after, she claims to have heard loud knocking, footsteps and objects moving around without explanation.
She received the doll during an investigation at Easterhouse's Provan Hall, when one of the attendees gifted it to her. The most terrifying aspect of the paranormal activity happened while they were carrying out an investigation in a park, where Yvonne is adamant she saw the doll blink.
Yvonne, who is from Paisley in Glasgow, said: "One of the member's friends had brought the doll to him after being on holiday in the north of England. They bought it from a charity shop. A lot of people hand in things like that to us. Most of the dolls I do have are all hand me downs so they don't bother me at all, but that night in Provan Hall I was sat in the base room and she made me feel uncomfortable. David, who works as a medium, absolutely hates her. I brought it home and he said I should keep it in the garage and that made me feel uneasy. I brought her into the house and she sat in the spare room."
A couple of days after bringing the inanimate object home the family heard a loud knock coming from the door and later from above, the dog took a dislike to the doll and some electrical items became faulty.
Yvonne explained: "Everything was fine for a few days but then I started to notice some knocking. My family and I heard a really loud knock to the point we jumped up and the dog was going mental but no one was at the door. We checked the Ring doorbell and no one was there. My husband doesn't believe in anything paranormal but even he heard it. The knocking continued but it started to come from above and it continued for a few days before stopping. I also heard footsteps of something walking fast across my landing.
"Suddenly my cocker spaniel took a dislike to the doll being in the room. It started barking at the doll and shaking. When I spoke to people about her I was whispering as if she could hear me. One day I came downstairs and saw one of my really heavy lamps sitting in the middle of the living room. My son came in and I asked if he'd been up but he hadn't. More objects were being moved each morning and wee electrical things started to happen. We have an electrical hoover that is programmed to come out 10.30pm each night. I was turning off the lights one morning and it shot out and did its own thing. I looked on the website and it hadn't been registered as being active at that time."
After a few nights of the unexplained activity which had occurred since the arrival of the doll, fondly named Agnes, Yvonne's friend David, who also works as a medium, decided to take the toy to his house. She said: "David took her home reluctantly and sat her on a seat beside his piano.
