Pictures of the suspect armed with a rifle have been released by the police, showing a man stalking into a business with a weapon shouldered ready to fire. The gunman is still believed to be at large. Law enforcement sources who have been briefed on the shooting confirmed to CNN that 22 have been killed with 50 to 60 people are injured. Police are warning people to stay in their homes and lock their doors.

Public schools in the city of Lewiston will be closed tomorrow, the district's superintendent announced.
"There remains a lot of unknowns at this time. Information moves quickly but not alway accurately," Jake Langlais, the superintendent, announced in a late-night message. "Please continue to shelter in place or get to safety. We will continue to update you with information and next steps as appropriate."
"Stay close to your loved ones. Embrace them. Our prayers go out to those who lost someone tonight," he added.
Medical center says it is responding to mass shooting
A local medical center said it was responding to a "mass casualty" event.
In a statement, they said: "Central Maine Medical Center is reacting to a mass casualty, mass shooter event. At this time there are no specifics to share on the number of casualties.
"Central Maine Healthcare is coordinating with area hospitals to take in patients."
