City Group's Celtic relationship grows as Ange Postecoglou to have brains 'picked' over Ligue 1 appointment

Patrick Kinsorbo will look to add another layer to the City Football Group connection with Celtic as he aims to seek out Ange Postecoglou for advice.

The Australian has taken charge of ES Troyes AC in Ligue 1, his first job abroad after time in the A-League at Melbourne City, who are also owned by a collection of clubs including Manchester City. Celtic are no strangers to dealing with the group, having landed Postecoglou from Yokohama Marinos while players like Patrick Roberts, Jeremie Frimpong and Jason Denayer have all swapped blue for green and white in recent years.

Celtic's boss knows all about the CFG structure Kinsorbo has moved in and according to Australian Associated Press, will reach out to 'pick the brains' of his fellow Victorian expat and ex-Rangers man Kevin Muscat, now managing Marinos. Kinsorbo said: "We all have ambitions and for me, it’s not any different. I want to be one of the best coaches in the world.

“I’ve been given this opportunity that not many people get and I’m very grateful and humbled to have that. It’s great, now you can see that Australian coaches are good – they hold value.

“We do a lot back home so hopefully there’s other coaches that have the opportunity to come overseas because the more Australian coaches that come overseas, the better.

“People don’t understand how hard it is just to do what coaches do to get these opportunities, because it’s very difficult.

“All I want is our game to grow in Australia, and if I can be a little help in that, it’s great."
