Harry & Meg branded ‘irrelevant’ & ‘very troubled couple’, as pair face call to have titles stripped after Netflix doc

PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle were branded "utterly irrelevant" by a government minister last night - and faced a call to have their royal titles removed.

Harry has been accused of attacking vital institutions in Britain during the controversial documentary, which touches on alleged racism and bigotry in the royal family.

In the show, Harry was quoted as saying royals have "a huge level of unconscious bias".

His wife Meghan said the media was set on "destroying" her.

Employment minister Guy Opperman said the couple are "utterly irrelevant" to the progress of the UK and the royal family.

Speaking on BBC Question Time, he said they were a clearly troubled couple, which is a “sad state of affairs”.

He said: "I don't think it has a fundamental impact on the royal family. I certainly won't be watching it. I would urge everyone to boycott Netflix and make sure that we actually focus on the things that matter."

It's been two years since Harry and Meghan quit working as full-time royals, and Seely plans to bring forward legislation which would take away the couple's royal titles.

If the proposed legislation passes, MPs would vote on a resolution which would give Privy Council the ability to strip away the couple's titles.

Mr Seely said: "As well as trashing his family and monetising his misery for public consumption, he is also attacking some important institutions in this country."

The royal couple have gained an immense amount of wealth from the Netflix series, estimated to be worth £100million.

The fourth, fifth and sixth episodes are due to be released next Thursday.

In the series, the couple slammed the British press, calling stories "salacious" and "planted" leading up to their wedding day.

Harry also spoke about what he called the Windsors' "unconscious bias".

Harry said: "In this family, sometimes you are part of the problem rather than part of the solution. There is a huge level of unconscious bias."

Meghan said she was surprised at the formality of the royal family - even behind closed doors - thought to be a dig at William and Kate.

Prince William is understood to feel “betrayed” after his brother allowed deeply personal attacks on both him and wife Kate to be aired.

Last night the Royal Family were said to be “in a state of sadness” after the couple’s latest barbs — but fear the worst is yet to come.

A senior palace source said Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace and members of the family were not approached for comment on content in the series.
