I’m a former Premier League star with £7.6m in career earnings – now I’m unemployed aged 26

FORMER Premier League star Josh Onomah is unemployed at 26-years-old.

The attacking midfielder was once one of England's hottest prospects, having been part of the winning Three Lions team at the Under-20s World Cup in 2017.

Onomah came through the ranks at Tottenham and made his first-team debut in 2015.

He was handed the chance by then manager Mauricio Pochettino and eventually established himself as part of the Spurs squad.

Onomah made 32 appearances for the North Londoners before being loaned out to Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.

He then left Tottenham permanently to join Fulham as part of the deal that saw Spurs sign Ryan Sessegnon for £25million.

Onomah spent four seasons at the Cottagers, helping them win promotion to the Premier League twice.

He played 76 times for the club and netted five goals.

But after struggling with injury and falling down the pecking order, his contract was mutually terminated in January this year.

Onomah was then snapped up on a free by Preston and he penned a short-term deal until the end of last season.

But he failed to land a longer contract at Deepdale and he remains without a club.

Onomah doesn't have to rush back into football as he has already pocketed a whopping £7.6million in his career, according to Capology.

However, he has been training with Stoke to maintain his fitness and he could reportedly be handed a contract by the club.
