I use a wrist rein on my son so I always know where he is, I know other mums will come for me but I’ve got my reasons

REIN IT IN

AS any mum will know, when your child starts walking, it can be a nightmare trying to keep an eye on them at all times.

So some parents rely on reins to keep their children close - a decision that often sparks controversy with other mums and dads.

And while Tiffany always thought she would be a mum who didn't use a rein - her mind was changed when her son started walking.

In a video on TikTok, Tiffany began: " Ok, all my mummas out there.

"Don’t come at me, ok, and my non-mummas don’t come at me.

"Before I would have never done this, however, he’s just my child.

"He’s one year old, he just started walking - he’s a walker now, and he wants to get in everything, he doesn’t want to be contained.

"So I bought this, it attaches to his wrist and we get to walk everywhere freely."

One end of the wrist rein is worn by the child, while the other is worn by the parent - with a stretchy string in between.

It also prevents the toddler from "making a scene, making it look like I don’t know how to contain my child, I don’t know how to parent".

"Because people look at you like that for no reason," Tiffany sighed.

She then urged other parents to "go get" one of the wrist reins, as she showed her son happily toddling around.

"I love it," she gushed.

"We’re at the airport all the time, and now we just walk around and it’s lovely.

"He loves it, it’s amazing."

"Before kids 'why would they put their baby on a leash'. After kids: 'where do I order that leash thing?'" another commented.

And a third added: "I don’t understand why there’s a stigma around this!

"Like, it’s so safe!"
