Man arrested after hit and run on Scots road leaves woman with 'serious injuries'

A man is due to appear in court in connection with an alleged 'hit and run' in Aberdeen. Emergency services were called to the A96 Auchmill Road, near the Bucksburn Roundabout, at around 6.35pm on Sunday, January 22, following reports that a person had been found with serious injuries after being struck by a car.

A 44-year-old woman was rushed to hospital from the scene. Her injuries were described as serious but 'not life-threatening'.

A 37-year-old male has now been arrested and charged following the incident. He will appear at Aberdeen Sheriff's Court at a later date.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "A 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a hit and run incident on the A96 Auchmill Road, near to the Bucksburn roundabout. The incident took place around 6.35pm on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

"A 44-year-old woman was found injured at the roadside and taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. The man is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court at a later date."
