Prince Harry is “failing” the royal family with his disregard for the privacy for its members, a royal expert has claimed.
The Duke of Sussex made a surprise return to the UK this week to appear in court against the parent company of the Daily Mail over alleged phone hacking.
Entering a statement into the court the Prince said: “The Institution was without a doubt withholding information from me for a long time”.

He later added he was, “conditioned to accept … the policy was to ‘never complain, never explain.’”
The claims come just months after the release of his incendiary memoir Spare which lifted the lid on some intimate details about life behind the gates of Buckingham Palace.
Writing for news.com.au, royal expert Daniela Elser claimed that the Prince’s repeated preference to make public the inner workings of the family with alleged disregard for its members' privacy is a failing on his part.
She referenced Harry’s own issues and frustrations over privacy but claimed that despite him having potentially been wronged when he was younger, now it is him making the mistakes.
She said: “Yes, the royal family might have failed him, especially as a grief-stricken child, but for yonks now he has been failing them too.
“Failing to, ironically, protect their privacy, the very thing he is court railing against, by revealing intimate conversations and even text messages in Spare.”
She added that his taste for making public previously undisclosed information didn’t stop at the Windsor clan, however.
“(This week in his statement, he also named a former girlfriend. Wonder if he had asked her permission before he exposed her information to the world?),” Elser wrote.
“And failing to be there during hard times.”
