Resident left 'terrified' after early-hours 'stabbing' at Glasgow flat

A resident in Glasgow has been left 'terrified' after an early-hours 'stabbing' inside a flat.

Emergency crews were called to an incident at an address on Braid Square at midnight on Saturday morning. Medics attended and a 30-year-old man was discovered with serious injuries.

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, where his current condition is unknown. Meanwhile, police are treating the incident as attempted murder.

Forensic teams were pictured swarming the property this morning. One local told Glasgow Live they have been left shaken by the ordeal.

The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "I woke up at 11am and looked outside my window to see police cars. We've been told there has been some sort of incident but we didn't know what has gone on.

"Police are still here, there was a forensic team and around six CID people coming in and out of the building. Forensics have been here all day trying to piece together what has happened.

"It has made me feel a bit anxious, I really don't want to be going out. It's left me in a panic."

Detective sergeant Nick Gribben, of Drumchapel Police Station, said: “We are working to establish how this man came to be injured and I would urge anyone who may have seen or heard any disturbance in the area to come forward. We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage from the area."

Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0016 of 30 September, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
