'Rude' and 'fat phobic' man kicked off flight after making comments about fellow flyer

The 18-year-old has been called out from all corners of the internet for rudely complaining about who described as an "obese man" in the adjoining seat.

He took to Reddit to vent, but people were quick to side with the flight attendants who had him removed from the flight.

The young man said that the incident kicked off when he boarded his flight, and claims his seat neighbour was taking up some of his seat's space.

He subsequently complained to a flight attendant, making comments about the person's 'rolls' and demanding to be moved. The member of cabin crew explained the flight was full, and he began to complain about the airline.

In a Reddit post he explained: "These comments prompted the flight attendant to call me rude and just made her double down on me getting kicked off the plane, though she reassured me I’d be compensated for this trouble as I told her I wasn’t travelling for vacation."

He said that his fellow passenger also called him a "fatphobic s***" and that other flyers "gave me the stink eye".

He turned to Reddit to find out if he was in the right - and people were unsurprisingly not on his side.

One livid poster wrote: "You didn't even have the decency to complain to the flight attendant privately, and wrongfully took out your frustration out on them."

Another person chimed in: "First of all, in case you didn’t know from the way you keep referring to him as 'obese man' people who are overweight are still people, and these people’s feelings matter just as much as yours.

"What you did is horrifyingly rude and disrespectful and the fact that you were thrown off the plane should’ve been enough to let you know that."

A third wrote: "Sounds like you embarrassed the larger person by complaining about their size right in front of them (cruel). Then, when the attendant told you no, you got aggressive and rude. You played yourself.

"If you had let everyone get seated and then found a private moment to talk to the flight crew, you might have had more luck. Try being nice."
