Spice Girl Geri Horner embroiled in bitter spat with neighbours over building works they say causes annoying side effect

SPICE Girl Geri Horner has been embroiled in a bitter spat with her neighbours over building works.

Geri, 50, recently replaced an old barn with a massive new stables for 14 horses without planning permission.

This saw her neighbours fume as they claimed the "hideous" barn impacted phone signals and destroyed their country landscape.

Geri, and husband, F1 Red Bull boss Christian, 48, were forced to seek retrospective approval for the stables.

And it has now been granted - with a list of conditions.

The Sun exclusively revealed the spat in August, when the Spice Girl's Oxfordshire neighbours declared war over the stables.

One claimed the “hideous” barn “destroys the landscape and views” and has affected mobile phone signals.

In a letter to West Northamptonshire Council, the neighbour said many villagers were not happy at laws being flouted.

They added: “They have even re-routed public footpaths and installed their own style gates, how is that being allowed?”

Another complained that they thought the barn was higher than one it replaced.

However, the council has now granted the Horners' permission.

The Oxford Mail reported planning documents said the old barn "is being replaced with a new barn of the same form and scale with stone plinth walls, timber cladding (Cedar) and a corrugated metal roof".

And the council permitted the building on the condition it is only used for private equestrian and land management.

It also said no commercial use, including riding lessons, tuition, livery or competitions, would be allowed at any time.

The council added that no additional external lights or floodlights were permitted on the land or building "without the prior express planning permission of the Local Planning Authority".

Geri has always been a keen horsewoman and celebrated her's and Christian's first racehorse win in May.

The horse, Lift Me Up, was named after her hit 1999 solo single.

The Sun Online has approached the council and Geri's PR for comment.
