As Liberia approaches October 10, 2023 for the historic holding of the general and presidential elections amid the bad roads condition nationwide, reports gathered by the DNNEWS has revealed that the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change has reportedly acquired one helicopter to access the southeastern corridor for campaign activities.
According to information gathered, the Ministry of Public Works has reportedly blocked road leading to Grand Gedeh County after temporarily reconditioning of the road in order for the Liberian leader, President George Weah’s motorcade to freely travel to the County.
Our reporter said the blocking of the road has reportedly increased the prices of basic commodities, meanly rice and petroleum products in the county for ordinary Liberians. However, DNNEWS, was reliably informed that the high-power helicopter was rented by the ruling party to transport poll watchers to hard-to-reach areas on Election Day.
Report says CDC has $ 50m budget for the election.
