Ahead of the Run-Off announced by the National Elections Commission (NEC). Several political parties are seeking the endorsement of the two main rivals, the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) of President George Manneh Weah, and the Unity Party (UP) of Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai, the latest endorsement has come from the Liberian People’s Party (LPP) of Cllr. Tiawon Saye Gongloe endorsing the Unity Party.
Making the disclosure today, October 25, 2023 in Monrovia, the National Chairman of the Liberian People’s Party (LPP), Mr. J. Yanqui Zaza said the decision to endorse the presidential bid of Ambassador Boakai of the Unity Party ahead of the run-off is due to the vision both political institutions shared for the people of Liberia.
In a related development, the Standard Bearer of the Collaborating Political Parties (LPP), Alexander Benedict Cummings has been having discussions with the two rivals in the upcoming run-off election between President George Weah of the CDC and Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai of the UP.
Even though, details on their meetings have not been made public, but political analysts who spoke to the GNN deduce that with the pending run-off where contenders in these elections are seeking for endorsement, the possibility may be there that either of them is seeking the support of the CPP Standard Bearer.
Liberians are looking forward to hear from the horses’ mouth as to the aims of the meeting, and what was highlighted during such meetings held.
