The Namibian wins big

The Namibian walked away with five of the accolades at the Editors’ Forum of Namibia (EFN) 2023 Journalism Awards in Windhoek last Thursday.

Journalist of the year and business report of the year 

The Namibian’s Lazarus Amukeshe, known in the newsroom as ‘Pastor’,  won in the business, finance and economic development category for his report ‘GIPF’s Tentacles’, which examines how pension funds flow from individuals to multinational corporations, such as Nike. He also won the journalist of the year award.

Mercy Karuuombe

The Namibian’s Mercy Karuuombe emerged as the winner in the education, health and social development category at last week’s Editors’ Forum of Namibia (EFN) Journalism Awards for 2023 for her report on being married off at the age of two. Read this at:

The Namibian’s Tileni Mongudhi, Shinovene Immanuel and Mathias Haufiku were joint winners with Yanna Smith from Kosmos Radio in the politics and governance category at last week’s Editors’ Forum of Namibia (EFN) Journalism Awards for 2023.

Joyce Kondo

The Namibian’s Joyce Kondo won in the visual storytelling category at last week’s Editors’ Forum of Namibia (EFN) Journalism Awards for 2023 with her entry ‘Fishrot Fashionista’.
